Nicki resides in Portland, Maine where she works as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. She graduated with honors from the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford, CT, in 2007. Working primarily in pen and ink and watercolors, her specialty is pointillism–or stippling– which is the technique of applying tiny dots of ink with a fine tip technical pen to simulate degrees of shading.  Nicki enjoys creating beautiful illustrations that will captivate the imaginations of children and be cherished by adults.

Nicole began her career in children’s book in 2010, when she illustrated and designed her first children’s book, My Maine. This was followed immediately by her second illustrated book, Down East in the Ocean, which was released in May 2011. Both books have been very well received and been praised with wonderful reviews. Her latest children’s book, Journey of the Sea Glass, is due to hit stores in the spring of 2012.
